the Power of Now

Most oftenly what we have currently is more valuable than what we think we dont have or we will accomplish in the future.

it was said that Yesterday is gone and tomorrow is a mystery but today is a gift, that why we call it present.

we are prone to think that that which is in the future is perhaps more glamorous than what we enjoy currently. We think and believe that our joys and bliss are found in some future date and therefore when we are tempted to enjoy the moment , the unknown of tomorrow catapults us into a fear and a waiting mode.

Theology itself has done us no more justice. Salvation in its quarters is deemed to have been accomplished but not fully yet. we  were saved we  are saved and we will be saved . The most logical thinking is to think that there s some happiness, some joy, some peace that God has purposed for us not to enjoy here on earth but in heaven in some future date albeit we can taste that here briefly.

Come to think of it. It  doesnt add more faith to think that God will do something for you in future that he hasnt done currently. Faith is not believing that God will do something in the future but faith says now. Faith is a response to the overwhelming evidence of Gods preceding actions. Faith is the mouth that recieves and eats the substance of Christ. Picture this;

He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?Rom 8:31

Friends , there is nothing God is withholding from us at the moment. If he gave us Christ, then he has freely availed everything that pertains to life and Godliness. This means we can Live Consequently of what God has done for us .This is the language of love. God is joyed when we are satisfied in him. When we acknowledge that we have been made complete in him. Does this mean that we have to validate this by what we see with our physical eyes?

At present, we do not yet see everything in subjection to him. 9 But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.(Heb 2:8b-9)

presently we dont see everything subjected under Christ but we do see Christ crowned with glory and honor. And when we see Christ crowned wit glory and honor, we see ourselves too redeemed and restored in Him.This means that even though we don't walk on water like Jesus did or not all people are healed as we ought to see, it does not negate or contradict the extent of what Christ has already accomplished for us. Its a tragedy to see yourself less of what Christ sees you to be.

Let us embrace fully as we have been embraced the gift of christ.Let us see ourselves through the lenses of completion for what we believe or have been fuly convinced of is most certainly sure of being manifested in the physical, Halleluiah .

beyond

OOH LORD
Ooh lord you have satisfied
Us with life beyond the expanse
Of the seas beyond the mention
Of many lips, you have satisfied
Us oh lord you have satisfied.
Yes you have satisfied

Ooh beyond our dreams you’re
Found beyond our repentance speech
You are true beyond mans devotion.
You are realer than mans impression
For with love you have satisfied
Us ooh lord you have satisfied

There is a place called beyond
There we reign, surely we do beyond
The tranquil and the limits of below beyond
Time, space and distance beyond
Successes, failures and regrets
You have satisfied,
Us ooh Lord you have satisfied.

eph 2: 6For he raised us from the dead along with Christ, and we are seated with him in the heavenly realms -- all because we are one with Christ Jesus.

Foundation

Theme; Foundation; 11th Aug 2013

Sermon delivered inKitengela ; kajiado County: Wonders of faith ministry

By Kevin Kainos

  •  IF THE FOUNDATIONS ARE SHAKEN, WHAT WILL THE RIGHTEOUS DO? The house ABOVElooks nice but what will happen when its foundations are shaken and its not strong enough? You see the Tragedy?

  • If you don’t know where you are going, then any road will take you there.

  • It’s not always in the seen but in the unseen where the cookie crumbles.

  • Beyond and beneath, we find Christ as our only foundation. Christ is the foundation and the power that runs our lives.

Word; 1st Cor 3:9-11 for we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's building. 10 According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. 11 For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

  • What is the foundation of our lives? Why do we believe what we do believe in? Do we believe stuffs because others have set the precedence for us? Do you believe things because others have merely believed on your behalf?

  • Why are you a Christian? Are you a Christian because one day you prayed a sinner’s prayer? Are you a Christian because you can pray well in the morning? Is it because of what you did and are able to do, or you are who you are because God makes you?

  • Do you believe that you are unconditionally accepted by God apart from your performance?

  • The tragedy of the church is to engage in self help Christianity. Its to be denied the rights of being in Christ and many people are thrown into self help mechanisms of getting themselves to be accepted by God.

  • We have been marauded by forces of demand. Life seems to demand from us from every corner. Life has a way of trying to pull us from the position of rest that we think that because we are used to getting things the hard way, that’s the way it should be between us and God.

However

·        We are Gods fellow workers. He is the worker and we are his work. You are not on our own. God our maker is our creator and the worker. He is the one who works in us and through us both to will and to act according to his good purpose.

·        No other foundation can be laid other than the one that has been laid. Our foundation is Christ. He is the source of our lives. We should subscribe to Christ in our going out in our coming in. No other principle Holds water if it doesn’t find its end in Christ.

·        Deut 33:27The eternal God is your dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms. And he thrust out the enemy before you and said, Destroy.(ESV)

The ancient God is home on a foundation of everlasting arms. He drove out the enemy before you and commanded, "Destroy!"(The message)

·        We are who we are by Grace; which means Gods ability and genius works beneath who we are. Our lives are hidden with Christ in God. We are no longer helping ourselves so that God will help us, rather our lives are hidden with Christ in God.

·        Nobody should deny us our rights which are in Christ Jesus. We have been bought by a price. Christ is the price that guarantees our redemption that raises us up from death to life. Everything holds together in Him. Everything we know in life must pass the test of Christ.

David co crucified Kimtai says

Isaiah 51:1"Listen to me, all you who are serious about right living and committed to seeking God. Ponder the rock from which you were cut, the quarry from which you were dug. (The Message)

In order to understand foundation, we must go back to the beginning. If the foundation is strong, then the whole building

                                                             .

  • Christ is the rock of ages. God our father is the rock of all times and we have been created in his image and likeness. Its in order to say that we have proceeded from God. If we are cut from the rock then we are of the rock. We are rocks and God is the rock of ages. Of Him(Christ ) we are. He is our wisdom, redemption and Holiness.

  • We are established on Christ the solid ground. In him we stand. He is the guarantee and the guarantor of our blessings.

  • We are no longer orphans, weaklings tossed by every wave of doctrine. W are fearless and so we declare that as he is so are we in this world. 1st John 4:16-18.

  • We look back to the cross we see the rock of ages and we see ourselves established in him, unmovable and secured in his love , grace, truth, righteousness and everything that comes from our father, Halleluiah.

looking back.

Psalm 32:1-2 blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. 2 Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.

While the Old Testament looked forward to the coming of Christ and to a day when finally man will be restored and reconciled back to God. The New Testament looks back at the objective center of our redemption and restoration.

The psalmist above was looking forward to a day when the trespass of man will be forgiven, when humanity’s sin would at least be covered; for even in the priestly order, the blood of the Bulls and goats would not suffice to purge human guilt away.

We however look back in time and see Christ. We see the cross . At the centre of man’s redemption and the great expanse of eternity is he cross
He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you

At the center of all things is Gods call that announced the great success story, that humanity has been embraced in Christ.
So in Christ we look back and see
Ø      Transgressions forgiven: Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven. In Christ our forgiveness is announced even while we were dead in our trespasses and sins, God made us alive together with Christ Jesus having forgiven us of all trespasses and sins; eph 2:1-10
Ø       Sin has been washed out! Good news isn’t it? We look back and see the evidence that our sins are washed as white as snow. Even Isaiah the prophet was looking forward to this; “that though your sins are as red as scarlet we will be washed as white as snow.” Our sins have not been covered but wiped and effaced out. How much has the blood of Christ purged us from an evil conscience?
For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, 14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.(Heb 9:13-14)
Ø      No iniquity of the heart. The heart of man is desperately wicked, who can know it. These were Jeremiah‘s insights against a sinful kingdom of Israel who had deserted the ways of their fathers. In the context of the Old Testament this reality is understood but we are in Christ and what David the psalmist looked forward unto has been realized in Christ.
Ø      Our spirit has no deceit. The greatest commandment of loving God with all our hearts souls and strength is now accomplished in Christ. John wrote about this in his epistles.
7 Beloved, I am writing you no new commandment, but an old commandment that you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word that you have heard. 8 At the same time, it is a new commandment that I am writing to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining. 1st John 2:7-8

The new commandment has been inscribed in our hearts. Its old yet its new because what is true about God is also true about us. What is true in him is also true in us. God has no deceit in him and that is true about him and its also true about us. God has no sin in him. That is true about him and also true about us.

Halleluiah lets look back and see where we are from. God has this testimony about us that we re truly redeemed, restored and set free. He who the son sets free is free indeed. We are rested in the arms of God our love. Whenever you are unsure about your salvation because of one or two things you did wrong, just look back. The cross speaks of your unconditional state of perfection and completion in Christ. In Christ all fears are stilled , all fears are effaced and we are left abandoned face to face with God. Beholding the face of Christ who is the glory of God.

The great Misconception

It’s a great misconception; I see it as a blanket that has canopied the church. In fact this as the tragedy that has ravaged the church. The Church has misconstrued the meaning of this big word and as a result she is maimed and impotent at the same time.

Am talking about the word Gospel. What is the true meaning of the gospel? What has the church really understood the gospel to be? What are the greastet misconception that have been conceived thereof?

Another tragedy that has been overdue with us is the failure to question our deeply held beliefs. We are drinking all the stuff that is passed over to us in Church and wherever without critically thinking and searching the scriptures to find what to believe for ourselves. As a result we have canopied ourselves with shadowy descriptions of biblical truths that we consider as the gospel. Here are just but a few misconceptions we may have had about the gospel

  1. The great Misconception number 1: The gospel refers to a particular truth we knowing the Bible.

You have heard it being proclaimed in the pulpits. “The Bible says” several quotes are made from the bible to communicate what the Bible says. We develop truths from scripture because of what we read as written in the Bible. Although many are the times that what we read in the scriptures is not necessarily what the bible says.

If we read the scriptures with veiled faces , we may want it to say what we know but that is not what it says. Jesus told the Pharisees who were devoted to scripture reading

You search the scriptures earnestly thinking that in them you have eternal life: and it is they that bear witness about me(John 5:39)

If the chief end of scripture doesn’t lead us to Christ ad to testify of him, of his glory of what he has accomplished at the cross then we have already missed the point of scripture already.

We may have many Biblical truths, many principles to draw from the Bible but if we miss the point of seeing Jesus in the scriptures then we may have misconstrued completely what the gospel is. Many preachers refer to the many truths they preach as the gospel. We may know many things in the Bible but if we know them not under the focus of Christ, then we really don’t know what the scriptures are about and most definitely we have missed out on what the gospel really is.

If there is anyway we know of God, of Jesus and of his scriptures apart from the testimony of Jesus and of his finished works of the cross, then we have not really encountered the gospel.
  1. The gospel being referred to a particular religious meeting, revival or a gathering

Another great misconception Indeed. I am used to hearing his whenever an invitation is made to an exciting Christian gathering, event, or even a seminar or a conference. “Welcome to this or that Gospel crusade” “That Church Preaches te gospel, you people dont” “there is a gospel meeting Down town.”

We have taken the word gospel and have clothed it with religious way of doing things. Whatever many people call Gospel meetings, gatherings or even conferences most o the time have got nothing to do with the gospel. The gospel is not something we can package in form of a well packaged religious program. Paul was very categorical in the way he perceived the gospel. He trembles and even shivers of the enigma of this thing called the gospel.

Ist Cor2:3-4 you saw me in my human frail and with fear and trembling it became apparent to you that my presentation was not according to a symphony of good behavioral conducts. I did not endeavor to win your popularity votes by my eloquence rather it was a clear expression of the limitless power of the spirit
(Kainos amplified)

1st Cor 2:3-4 And I was with you without strength, in fear and in doubt. 4 And in my preaching there were no honeyed words of wisdom, but I was dependent on the power of the Spirit to make it clear to you(Bible in Basic English)

1st Cor 2:3-4 And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, 4 and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, (ESV)

The gospel is not found in how nicely we package our message to entice people to believe our so called Gospel; rather the gospel is the display of the spirit’s limitless power. The gospel is not found in going to that exciting meeting that you always look forward to at the end of every week, month or even year.(I appreciate and honor  the gospel gatherings out there, but the truth be told ) The gospel is found in the unveiling of your true identity which is revealed
The gospel is the power of God unto salvation. Not the power of a religious meeting unto salvation. A lot of people have been manipulated into hearing someone’s gospel. It has been made like a person must attend such and such meeting so that he can get such and such gospel. We have gradually graduated into a man seek church. We give church leaders roles and titles according o the gospels they preached. Ts no different scenario than that which paul observed. Some were chasing after Apollos and some after Paul as if Paul and Apollos were crucified for them. Without apologies I sa that you should not pay any allegiance to the so called Gospel preachers, Men of God who prowl for your loyalty.

1st Cor3:3 you are still subscribing to your fleshly ways; you display propensity to rely on the strength that comes from your outer sockets (you are carried out by emotions and a worldly view of one another) and the evidence of all this is the strife and jealousy among you. You are full of all manner of controversies and debates. Are you surely not in the self modification, Human methodology scheme?

1st cor 3:4some of you say long live Paul, we are with you to the very end, and some of you from another corner come to announce your allegiance to Apollos. What! Are you not just behaving like normal politicians?

1st cor3:5 I would like to ask you, who or what the heck is Apollos, who or what the heck is Paul? They are just servants through the administration of God through whom God has caused your faith to awaken (Were Paul and Apolos crucified for you? The next thing we’ll see is you wanting to cut us into small pieces of arguments and carry us home.)
(Kainos amplified)

The gospel is not in words, its not found in that famous evangelist you know such that you pay allegiance to him, the gospel is power, anyone purporting to preach the gospel must do it in such a way that it reveals power, power o call and summon people from darkness to light, to turn the blind to see the light of the glory of God. Ths is what the gospel is all about. The gospel should not be misconstrued, This great misconception must end. It ends with you and me.

the tragedy

Unrest the havoc of the church
Unrest once you step inside its doors
What has washed away our sins ?
but unrest steals the show

this is the tragedy of the body of Christ, one writer called it the daisy petal Christianity. He loves me, he loves me not. When i feel Good about God because i have enforced a mood of worship God's presence is here. When i pass through dry moments God is far away.

this is the tragedy i see it as wide spread as the canopy of the rain forest in central africa. Believers all over immensely engaged in intense spiritual activities; praying without ceasing, devoting themselves to the Lord, tithing and so on and so forth. The problem though is that this God is percieved as a long distance God and the terms of our relationship with him is deemed to be a long distance relationship where this God who once promised that he will never leave us nor forsake us has soon gone AWOL.(absent without official leave) and Christians are in undated therefore to bring his presence down.

The worst part of this tragedy is still that many believers out there still know of a God who is about to cast them out of his presence. Sunday to Sunday this God who you meet immediately you step inside the doors of your church demands obedience and devotion, without which you are doomed and wretched. The manner of disparity happening every Sunday in many pulpit is to present an ever demanding God on one side and an ever increasingly sin conscious believers on the other side waiting for an angry God to unleash his rod. Many people  are not aware of what God says about them. The message of the cross is not central, we may mention it by our lips but its not the central proponent that propels believers to live their daily lives.

in the midst of this tragedy, there has increasingly grown a people tired of the norms, tired of traditions of men, tired of philosophies that has long crept in the pure unadulterated message of the cross. I see it widespread in church and the social medias. The souls of men crying out to the pure unadulterated gospel, the bliss of being in Christ. This frustration has been fueled by the truth that religion has failed. It has failed to give people freedom, it has failed to unveil the person and the glory of God in the face of christ. many believers are living in fear; in fear of a God who is unpredictable, we know by our lips about his great faithfulness but in our hearts we have furnished our spiritual acts, putting our acts together  because we know of his wrath against sin. Many more believers are living in the cringes of few scripture texts drawn out of context and which have caused them to live in fear

so this tragedy called churchianity / religion has succesively born slaves. But these slaves are breaking free. i can hear the roars ""all we want is Christ and him crucified" but who is there unveil the gospel that ushers people to the unforced rythms of grace? Where is the gospel that delares the righteousness of God apart from the works of the law ? yes we are the uncontainable generation, we refuse to be bogged down by religion; by a rigid lifestyle that chokes up the integrity and the glory of Christ. Where is the gospel that calls all to repentance ? not repentance of the Old Testament, that of wailing and ululations, but a call that comes from the heart of the father who embrces people with unforced rythms of grace; even Eugene Peterson got this understanding when he wrote this portion in the message Bible

mat 11:28 "Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. 29 Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. 30 Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."(the message
all over the world the roars continue and people are awakened to the gospel that presents them before God with a clear conscience, the same way Paul proclaimed with all breath that he through his preaching presents men before the very conscience of God.

This is my creed, all in you blessed centre
This is the decree, all in you blessed pleasure
That our joy employin you
and no other as our creed-(kevin kainos )the world awaits in groan for the manifestation of the sons of God, sons who reflect and outburst the glory of God in the face of jesus christ. Its not going to happen by power or might but by the spirit of God. yes by the spirit energizing itself in us as we see and behold Christ in our everyday experience
its not going to happen by arguement that rests on wisdom of men or by theological debates rather by  a raw look into the face of Christ and as in a mirror begin to see the glory of Christ reflecting on us and in us.This is what i call Faith working through love.
Faith working through love.

Its going to happen by seeing ourselves embraced by the father who has invited us into his own fellowship; the fellowship of the father and the son. (1stJohn 1:3). Yes when we are fully satisfied with only what the cross reports about what it has accomplished for us in Christ .
Lets take joy in the singularity of the gospel that reveals Christ and him crucified. That our joy may employ in him and no other as our creed.

Abba father part 2

Well many know of a God who is not the Lord and the father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Many have the idea of a harsh God spirited with anger and wrath and demanding of undivided loyalty.

When John saw Jesus he says this is the one from the father full of grace and truth. You who want to see the face of GOD. We who seek to be men after God’s heart , what kind of God do we worship?

Is he a God full of love or a God full of rage and expectation, for many say Great is your faithfulness oh God by mouth but what they actually mean is great is their performance to earn acceptance points towards God. He is Abba father; behold the proximity.

John 1:14 The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish.(the message)

John decides to enter the bush straight and introduce us to the beginning where there was the word, the word was with God and the word was God.

He then tells us that the word became flesh and dwelt amongst us. The beauty of God is in his proximity. He is not far from us, he is Emmanuel. Paul testified of the same to the pagans in Athens by proclaiming that in him we live, move and have our being.

The greatness of our God is that he moved into our neighborhood. God refused to be God without us. Indeed we are his offspring. He invites us to partake in his divine nature

2nd peter 1:4-5 We were also given absolutely terrific promises to pass on to you - your tickets to participation in the life of God after you turned your back on a world corrupted by lust. 5 So don't lose a minute in building on what you've been given, complementing your basic faith with good character, spiritual understanding,

Think of a God who gives such terrific promises. Actually all of the promises of God are yes and through us amen is uttered to the glory of God.

Think of a God generous with love and life and I guarantee you your life will never be the same.

John 1:16-18We all live off his generous bounty, gift after gift after gift. 17 We got the basics from Moses, and then this exuberant giving and receiving, This endless knowing and understanding - all this came through Jesus, the Messiah. 18 No one has ever seen God, not so much as a glimpse. This one-of-a-kind God-Expression, who exists at the very heart of the Father, has made him plain as day. Thunder in the Desert(the message)

We live by his resources. The glory of the father is by providing for his children. When the children are fattened by the resource of the father, the father’s heart is blessed. Our father desires that we live by his resources. When we say that we are the righteousness of God the holiness of God, its because we are living by his resource.

God has made his heart as plain as day. He is a God of Giving and we are endless receivers. We give glory to our father by receiving his abundance forever. God has one expression, one face, one expectation, fullness of grace and truth.
He is a father itching with numerous love for us. When we see that we are filled with wow moments. We see what the father sees. We experience what God experiences, joy in seeing us redeemed, what a blessedness

abba father ; part 1

He is our God. He created us by his design. Of his breath we are.

Rom 8:15-17For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" 16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs--heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.

The spirit which he breathed in us in creation and we became living souls finds its fulfillment in the spirit of Christ regenerated in us. We are resonating God. He created us to resound him.
Yes we have received the spirit of love power and of sound mind. He is our father and there is an African saying that goes ‘mtoto wa nyoka ni nyoka’ an offspring of a snake is surely a snake.
We have been born of God; conceived of God. We know this when we receive the gospel by faith. To them who received him and yet those who believed in his name he gave them the right to become the sons of God. (John 1:12) You see Jesus didn’t come to bring or to pioneer a new movement called Christianity or a group of moral perfectionists. He came to reveal our identity; that we came from God, that we are the God kind, first to the Jews and by extension the whole mankind. He tells Nicodemus “we speak of our testimony but you people don’t believe our testimony”(John 3:11)

He came and mended the walls of hostility that stood between us and God. We thought we were enemies with God but he came and reconciled us to God by his physical body. Jesus tells Nicodemus , we have a testimony, this is our testimony but you don't believe our testimony. Many of us have been introduced to God the headmaster and not God the father of our lord Jesus Christ who is also our father. He is a father full of love. The story of the prodigal son is not so much about the son but so much about the loving father who is waiting to receive us back to his fold. He is our father , the great evangelist who doesn’t wait for us to make repentance speeches but he runs towards us and hugs and kisses our dirt away.
You may see yourself as the worst sinner, a mass of corruption and full of sin consciousness; that doesn’t matter. Love has no competition. No amount of sin offers enough competition to the breathtaking recovery love brings; the Love of the father for where sin abounds grace much more super abounds.

John the Baptist preached to the people to repent for the kingdom of God is at hand. The long awaited messiah was at the proximity. The kingdom of God which was thought to be as far as possible is now at hand. It is reachable.

The message bible puts it well that the word of God was made flesh and came into our neighborhood
John 1:14the Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish. (Message)
This is what God wants you to see in him, a true and a generous father. He is not about to play dice with you. He is moved with all generosity of love towards you. You may have heard of an Angry God, of judgment and fire. God may have been misrepresented and you may be confused of who God is. The summary is this; our Abba father is love. His love is greater than wrath. And  God's love casts out every fear. In his justice we do see love for he gathered the entire wrath and he consumed it all in himself through his son at the cross.

I don’t know which God you know today; for many know of a God who is not the Lord and the father of our lord Jesus Christ. He is your father, he loves you. In tmy last post I wrote that faith working through love is only possible for them that have all their eggs in one basket. Our one basket is Jesus. He is the only life we know and have. We are not insecure or anxious. What if the only knowledge you had today in the whole world today is that you were loved? Would such knowledge be enough to be your life? Would such knowledge be in great danger, that if you knew God as love you would continue sinning and dishonor him? Would you love a father who is about to chase you away on account of your sins as religion puts it only to reach to you when you are out there and miserable?

Off course Not! If we as parents cannot deny our little ones love how much do you think God loves us? Is little? Is it only if we accept him? Does he love us to the extent that we can obey him and he may somehow withdraw his spirit from us when we don’t have enough obedience points? No Great is his faithfulness. When we are faithless he remains faithful. His faithfulness is the guarantee of love. We love because he first loved us.

faith worketh through love part 2

faith working through love does not work for a person who has not put all his eggs in one basket(R t Kendall)[1]

Kendall my recent favorite writers who wrote in the 80s says that faith working through love is not possible for one who has not put his eggs in one basket –Jesus Christ.

If we have not believed that we have peace with God through the justification that comes with Christ (rom 5:1) then we will be toast like the waves of the sea. Many believers live in the fear that they will somehow be eternally lost if they  don’t carry out their part of being faithful in obeying God effectively.
Kendall says that if it hits you that you are justified and made at peace with God in Christ Jesus forever you will regret that you ever doubted in your heart of your eternal salvation. Yet isn’t it what we see in the church, believers are not sure if they are even going to heaven.

It becomes utterly frustrating that believers are the most active spiritual beings and yet  are the ones who are doubting the God they worship. If we have not put our eggs in one basket by being convinced of our eternal dwelling in Christ, then no matter how perfect we are religiously, we have missed on Christ and his love for us in availing God’s fullness to us.

If God did not withdraw his son from us but freely gave him for us, how much more with him will he grant us all these things we need for life? If God does indeed withhold something from his people until they show some loyalty , then I think God is fair enough to let us know that. If our conscientious religion catapults the heavens to move or if the prayers of the righteous manage to arm twist the arm of the Lord to move for his people, then what is free has been undermined by the performance of man.i am not against prayer, but prayer is prayer in the right context, its communing with God-agreeing with God concerning Christ and what he has accomplished for us aas we see them manifest. No wonder then Christianity has become a frustrating venture of making God move while believing in his son at the same time.We are soon caught up in the man towards God movement- not unless we do something God won't move.
If God has withheld something from us until our performance ratifies his blessings then I bet even that we are wnot worshiping him from the depths of our hearts.
We may say awesome things about God but on the other hand shoot up our defensive darts because we are somehow convinced that God is a short changer who is after our loyalty and obedience. When we see something awesome with our God we may quickly be reminded to cork our religious guns and get back to war and the summary becomes, its all about us.
With our lips we may sing great is thy faithfulness but with our hearts we are singing great is my faithfulness. It’s a schizophrenic spirituality that gives birth to slaves, to zombies.

Would we think that if God requires more works from us to ratify what he has already done, that we would love him more? Is God suffering from personality issues. Is God Emmanuel and on the other side he is about to hide his face from us? Do we honestly want to think that God is withholding anything from us? Anything whatsoever?

What if God wants us to know that Christ is our life now and as effortlessly as breathing the air bet our lives in Him. What if that which we think God will bless us with later he has blessed us now already? Would he love us to know and experience the blessings ; indeed we have been blessed with all the spiritual blessings in the heavenly realms in Christ.(eph 1:3) What if God wants to us to know as David forsaw that blessed is the man to whom God does not see iniquity?(psalm 32:1-3) what if we are that generation? Wouldn’t God be glorified in seeing his sons captivated by such realities?
Friends what if all these are real stuff that God wants us to know? We are in him, all our eggs in one basket. The singer sang and said how great is our God. He is great and the things he has done in us are great. They can only be measured in the weight of Christ, stay blessed.

Why is the gospel the good news?

Because it is an announcement: if I had something good and keep it to myself, the good thing remains with me. The gospel is not the go...
